Donna Brazile, the former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, posted a questionable tweet praising the Weinstein Company film studio for “taking the lead” against sexual assault.
…after the company fired alleged sexual predator Harvey Weinstein.
“The Weinstein Company has taken the lead against sexual harassment and assault,” Brazile tweeted on Sunday in response to an Associated Press report.
It would appear that Brazile, who resigned from her role as a CNN contributor after it was disclosed that she fed debate questions to Hillary Clinton’s campaign, was trying to lay cover for the scandal involving a big-time Democrat donor.
She would eventually delete the tweet, being ridiculed and mocked into submission by social media users.
After all, it’s not likely the company named after the powerful Hollywood producer was oblivious to the, ahem, nature of the beast.
The company certainly knew of Harvey's abuses for years and did nothing. Also, you cheated Sanders to help Clinton. Your words mean nothing.

The Weinstein Co. Has been in cover-up mode for YEARS. The only reason they fired him (which means nothing) is because he got caught.

But the best response to Brazile’s attempted spin was from Twitter user Glen Woofin:
If getting caught with ur pants down is "taking the lead against sexual harrassment," ur on the wrong end of the donkey. @donnabrazile

Here’s a sampling of other responses from Twitter that helps explain why her tweet is no more:
Decades. Settlements paid out. Silence until NYT piece. Come on. https://t.co/TzCxPyWerN

That’s like Brazile taking the lead against cheating in debates

A more accurate headline would be “Weinstein Company Takes Lead In Sexual Harassment Deception and Payouts to Victims. Hollywood Silent”
