After the abrupt departure of co-host Jedediah Bila for allegedly being a little bit too hard on Hillary Clinton during an interview earlier this month, The View is looking for yet another token conservative.

And they just reportedly found one in former Fox News contributor Meghan McCain, who is set to take her seat on the daytime talk show in early October, according to Variety.

The daughter of Senator John McCain will join current cast members Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, Paula Faris, Sara Haines, and Sunny Hostin. The View hopes to increase an audience that has been dwindling ever since the 2013 departure of Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Variety reports.

McCain had previously been a co-host on Fox News’ popular daytime show Outnumbered, but recently left the show to “focus on other things.”

Now we know what those “other things” are.

Twitter reaction was mixed, but mostly negative. For some reason, people are questioning McCain’s conservative credentials (go figure). So in other words, McCain and The View are a match made in heaven!
