Was Juan cheering?! The Five hosts literally giddy over ‘State of the Trump’ ‘Big Luther’ speech

President Trump was hitting all cylinders during his Friday night speech in support of Alabama Senate candidate Luther Strange, and his effort drew high praise from all the panelists on Fox News’ The Five.

Even resident liberal Juan Williams, and THAT’s saying something.

Kimberly Guilfoyle opened the segment by nothing that the speech felt like Trump was doing a “state of the union, back on the campaign trail” and that the president was clearly “enjoying himself.”

“Gee Whiz,” Greg Gutfeld added. “He’s like a band who knows his greatest hits. So the wall is his Free Bird. You talk about Islamic terror, it’s My Sharona. But he introduced something new. ‘Get that SOB off the field’ is one of the most memorable lines – I don’t care if you think that’s lowering the bar of the presidency. There are a lot of people in America who agree with that sentiment.”

The Fox News co-host was referring to a segment of the speech where Trump encouraged NFL owners to dismiss anyone who kneels in protest during the national anthem – “get that son of a b—- off the field right now.”

Gutfeld said Trump was “one of those rare mechanics or plumbers who tells you exactly what’s wrong instead of just charging you.”

Another panelist called it the “state of the Trump, saying this was the speech Trump was “itching to give to the U.N. General Assembly on Monday” but couldn’t.

Jesse Watters was a fan.

“Top five Trump, 2017. Speech was so good even Juan wants to make America great again. Don’t deny it Juan!” Jesse Watters said as his co-host laughed and joked “Go America!” “I saw you watching it – you were cheering. Don’t even try it. This was a buy American hire American speech. Give this speech anywhere in the country 65, 70 percent of the country eats it up. Live Trump is the best Trump. If he gives this speech every Monday night in the field live he could crush it and win reelection easily.”

Watters mentioned Trump’s new nickname for Strange, “Big Luther,” and how the President distanced him from Mitch McConnell. He also noted the elements of the speech, China, climate change, tax cuts, NAFTA, radical Islam, Obamacare, and even a new nickname for Kim Jong Un, “Little Rocket Man.”

“I think you got something very right in terms of the positive,” Williams said. “Luther Strange doesn’t even know Mitch McConnel – ‘Never met him.’

“Roy Moore is still in the lead,” Williams noted. “This is Republicans versus Republicans, and that’s got the president wound up tonight.”

“He’s not a politician, he’s a performer,” Gutfeld. “He’s not like other people. He’s Don Rickles, not Donald Trump.”

Will it be enough to elect Strange over Roy Moore? We’ll know on Tuesday!
