Liberals didn’t take well to President Trump’s suggestion that NFL owners fire football players who kneel during the National Anthem. Democrats are now trying to convince football stars to do the exact opposite of what Trump wants.
Former US Representative Donna Edwards (D-MD) is leading the charge. She told all NFL players to take a knee during the National Anthem just to spite Trump–whom she calls a “white supremacist.”

Edwards, like Democratic icon Barack Obama, was a community organizer before entering politics. She served as a member of the House from 2008-2017, then retired from public officer after losing a Senate bid.
Not surprisingly, Edwards has been a long-time opponent of President Trump’s and his unique agenda. Here’s what she thinks of Trump’s pledge to repeal and replace Obamacare.

And according to her tweet history, she belongs to the crowd of liberals who believe earthquakes and eclipses are evidence of climate change, when she responded to this tweet with the following words.

Fortunately, there were also plenty of conservatives around to remind Edwards why Democrats keep losing elections and why NFL ratings are plummeting.

All of this began when President Trump, at a rally for Senator Luther Strange (R-AL), spoke out for honoring the flag by saying “Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, you’d say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He’s fired.'”
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell condemned the President.

But because Goodell failed to refer to Trump by name, he was called out for his cowardice by both sides of the political aisle.
This is just like when the far-left began targeting monuments of Thomas Jefferson in response to Trump’s critique Civil War statue protesters. Liberals love to double down in order to “stick it” to President Trump–not realizing that they’re alienating mainstream Americans in the process.
