Calls are mounting for ESPN to fire SportsCenter anchor Jemele Hill, who recklessly attacked President Trump as a “white supremacist.”
Fans were furious that ESPN refused to condemn Hill for defaming the president in an unhinged Twitter tirade.
“Donald Trump is a white supremacist who has largely surrounded himself w/ other white supremacists,” Hill charged. “Trump is the most ignorant, offensive president of my lifetime. His rise is a direct result of white supremacy. Period.”
ESPN responded by issuing a wimpy statement calling Jemele’s race-baiting insults “inappropriate,” but refused to apologize to its fans or to take further action.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said Hill should be fired for her inflammatory comment. “That is one of the more outrageous comments that anybody could make and certainly is something that is a fireable offense by ESPN,” Sanders said.
Calling someone racist (especially today, when the word is casually thrown around all the time) is one thing. Calling someone a white supremacist is a very serious charge, bordering on defamation.

Donald Trump is a bigot. Glad you could live with voting for him. I couldn't, because I cared about more than just myself

Fans were especially outraged because ESPN has fired other on-air personalities over smaller infractions. ESPN is owned by the left-leaning Walt Disney Co., which also owns liberal network ABC.
Race-baiting ESPN got green light to push left-wing propaganda from Disney CEO Bob Iger
In February 2017, ESPN fired commentator Doug Adler over a benign remark that was mistakenly viewed by illiterate moonbats as a racial slur. Adler had described Venus Williams’ tennis strategy as “the guerrilla effect,” meaning an aggressive, take-no-prisoners style of play.
Race-baiting leftist grievance mongers misinterpreted his remark as “gorilla” and got him fired. Adler had a heart attack caused by the stress and has since filed a massive wrongful termination lawsuit. In 2016, ESPN fired baseball analyst Curt Shilling for posting a meme about transgender bathrooms.
And just last month, ESPN pulled an Asian-American broadcaster named Robert Lee from announcing a football game because they were afraid to trigger liberal snowflakes who might confuse him with dead Confederate general Robert E. Lee.
Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson blasted ESPN’s blatant hypocrisy. “ESPN stands for Endless Stupid Political Nagging,” he said.
Fox News star Jesse Watters agreed, saying ESPN needs to cut the double standards. Watters said if a white anchor had attacked former president Barack Obama the way Jemele Hill trashed President Trump, they would’ve been fired immediately.
ESPN hosts fired as rampant sexual harassment is uncovered at liberal network
He also pointed out that ESPN’s audience is mostly white males, so why alienate your viewers by suggesting they’re racists? That’s essentially the stance that today’s leftists have adopted: That ALL whites are racist, not just some. Watters said on The Five:
There’s a huge double standard. If a white anchor at ESPN had said that President Obama was a Black Panther and surrounded himself with racists, that person would be terminated in 24 hours. It’s also a horrible business decision because guess who watches ESPN? Men. Guess who else watches them? White men.
I think Trump won 63% of the white male vote. So she’s alienating her core base. That would be like someone on BET out there proclaiming that Obama’s birth certificate was forged. It’s just an asinine business decision. It makes no sense to insult your audience like that.
Many on Twitter agreed that ESPN won’t fire Hill simply because she’s black. They slammed ESPN’s wimpiness and hypocrisy and trashed Hill’s racist remarks.

Boycott ESPN. Jemele Hill can call Trump a "white supremacist" but if a host said Obama was an "Islamic terrorist" they'd be fired. #TCOT
