Tim Tebow makes World War II vet smile at Hurricane Irma shelter: He’s the anti-Kaepernick

Former University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow brightened the day of a World War II veteran at a Hurricane Irma shelter for evacuees with special needs.

The frail, elderly man broke out into a huge gummy smile after showing off his mad harmonica skillzzz to Tim, who clapped enthusiastically. The older gentleman played quite well, especially when you consider he has hardly any teeth!

Tebow’s visit touched the man’s daughter so much she broke down in tears with gratitude. The smallest gestures can mean so much, especially when you’re older and people sometimes forget you exist.

Tebow, a 2007 Heisman Trophy winner, shared the encounter with his 4 million-plus Twitter fans, where he gushed that the older gentleman had inspired him.

“Totally uplifted by this #WW2 veteran, whose spirit and talents encouraged his fellow visitors at this Special Needs Shelter!” Tebow wrote.

The former University of Florida superstar spent much of Monday at the Hurricane Irma shelter, volunteering and visiting evacuees. Earlier in the day, the devout Christian shared a message of hope in the aftermath of the hurricane.

“I know there’s a lot of people hurt right now, but the awesome thing is, we’re going to rally together and try to help everybody,” he tweeted. “We’re praying for you. God’s got a plan for everything, so keep trusting him. God bless you guys.”

Tim’s legions of fans had nothing but praise for the star athlete.

Tebow, who recently wrapped his first minor-league baseball season as a member of the St. Lucie Mets, is known for his extensive charity work and his generosity toward his fans.

In August, Tim made a little autistic boy cry with happiness after shaking his hand while preparing for his at-bat.

Tebow punctuated his good deed by blasting a 3-run home run after the encounter. After the game, Tim made his way into the stands and gave the boy a warm hug.

Compare this classy former NFL star to spoiled, overpaid athletes like Colin Kaepernick. It’s like they’re from two different planets.
