Hillary Clinton pushes new media ‘fact check’ site that immediately crashes, here’s the rest of the absurd story …

On Sunday Hillary Clinton endorsed a new “fact checking” website run by one of her minions. And that is the least absurd part of the story.

The former Democrat presidential candidate tweeted her endorsement of the website Verrit.com to her 18 million Twitter followers with the message “I’m excited to sign up for @Verrit, a media platform for the 65.8 million! Will you join me and sign up too?”

Many established fact checking websites, such as Snopes and Politifact, are often accused of being shills for the left based on visible bias. An accusation that those websites vehemently deny.

Which begs the question, what will make this website any different?

The answer is, the fact that Verrit openly admits, nay boasts, that it is, in fact, a shill for the left and left-wing talking points.

The tag line for the company, emblazoned on its Twitter page and every page of its website, is “MEDIA FOR THE 65.8 MILLION.” A reference to the number of popular votes Clinton got for the presidency in the 2016 election.

And the absurdity doesn’t end there. In fact it is only beginning.

The website is run by Peter Daou, who was Clinton’s “Internet Director” in her failed 2008 bid for the presidency and her digital media strategist in the years after.

He also advised John Kerry in his failed bid for the presidency in 2004.

When it comes to losing, Daou’s credentials are unmatched.

The site aims to be an echo chamber for likeminded progressives desperate to hear no opinion other than their own.

To compound the ridiculousness of the new venture, shortly after Clinton’s endorsement of the fledgling website, the servers crashed.

Daou claims it was the victim of a cyber attack.

But more plausible theories include the idea that the servers could not handle the immense traffic brought on by the endorsement of Clinton, and the rush of her followers to find a safe space where they didn’t have to hear conservative ideas.

Another theory is that the servers are located in Clinton’s Chappaqua basement and were smashed by aides that were afraid the FBI might get a hold of them.

OK, we’re half kidding about that one.

But, it does sound a lot sexier to tell followers that the dastardly right-wingers launched a cyber attack on the new website because they don’t want you to hear the same left-wing talking points you can get from watching the news.

Adding more absurdity, Daou suggested on social media that the need for his website is that there is “no sanctuary in the media for Hillary voters.”

Yes, he suggested that the media is a hostile place for those who support Hillary Clinton.

He told Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, after Clinton’s defeat to President Donald Trump, that the media owed Clinton an apology.

In fact, he suggested it again, this time saying on social media that the press should have used the White House Correspondents Dinner to issue an apology to Clinton.

But on Monday he was basking in the glow of the attention his website was receiving over the “cyber attack,” because Verrit is such a big threat to conservatives.

Keep in mind that these statements were made by a man who had a front row seat to Clinton losing not one, but two presidential elections to underdog political novices, which, in essence, proved that America wanted anyone other than her.

Fox News’ Martha MacCallum goes snake hunting: ‘How’s Comey going to explain this?’

But Daou is a loyal soldier and still believes Hillary Clinton is the voice of America.

Not surprisingly both Clinton and Daou were mercilessly mocked on social media.

But they need sanctuary.

Don’t question Hillary. If anyone knows how to reach the American people and win elections it’s … oh wait.

It would be more useful.

They don’t come more left wing than Elliot Lusztig and he is mocking it.

Lot’s of luck with this one. Hashtag, Hillary lost.
