Missouri state senator finds Jesus; finally apologizes to Trump’s family for assassination call

With few options before her and facing possible expulsion, Missouri state Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal has apologized for saying on social media that she hopes President Donald Trump is assassinated.

…but make no mistake about it, her mea culpa is a play at self-preservation.

That the Democrat lawmaker has not been force out already after taking to Facebook on Thursday to call for the death of the President of the United States is a testament to the double standard in play in America that favors the left.

“President Trump, I apologize to you and your family,” Chappelle-Nadal said at a press conference Sunday. “I also apologize to all the people in Missouri. And I also apologize to my colleagues in the Missouri legislature for the mistake that I made.”

Displaying a stunning level of hypocrisy, even for a Democrat, Chappelle-Nadal called herself “a servant of God,” and spoke of Jesus Christ in begging forgiveness, according to Fox News.

“I made a mistake. And I’m owning up to it,” she said. “And I’m not ever going to make a mistake like that again. I have learned my lesson. My judge and my jury is my Lord Jesus Christ.”

This from the woman who foments civil unrest by blatantly speaking of race wars, and drops F-bombs with regularity, even when speaking of fellow Democrats.

In response to her egregious assassination call, the Missouri Democratic Party called for Chappelle-Nadal to resign.

“State Senator Chappelle-Nadal’s comments are indefensible,” Missouri Democratic Party Chairman Stephen Webber said in a statement, according to Fox News. “All sides need to agree that there is no room for suggestions of political violence in America – and the Missouri Democratic Party will absolutely not tolerate calls for the assassination of the President.”

Powerful U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., has also called on the lawmaker to resign over her comment.

“I condemn it,” McCaskill told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “It’s outrageous. And she should resign.”

Adding to the pressure, Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens, a Democrat, said Chappelle-Nadal should be expelled, if she won’t step down.

“If she will not resign, the Senate can vote to remove her,” Greitens said. “I believe they should.”

Through it all, the “servant of God” has been defiant, telling KMOX Radio, “There is no way in hell that I’m resigning.”

We’ll see.
