Is Attorney General Jeff Sessions back in the good graces of his boss?
President Donald Trump took to Twitter to praise his “beleaguered” attorney general after the announcement of a crackdown on the flood of leaks coming from within the executive branch.
A move that suggests Sessions may be out of the Trump doghouse.
“After many years of LEAKS going on in Washington, it is great to see the A.G. taking action! For National Security, the tougher the better!” the president tweeted.

The “action” Trump speaks of is in reference to an announcement Friday by Sessions that the Department of Justice may start subpoenaing journalists in an effort to track down members of the administration who are leaking classified information.
“In the first six months of this administration, DOJ has already received nearly as many criminal referrals involving unauthorized disclosures of classified information as we received in the last three years combined,” Sessions said at a press conference.
“We respect the important role that the press plays and will give them respect, but it is not unlimited. They cannot place lives at risk with impunity,” he added. “We must balance their role with protecting our national security and the lives of those who serve in our intelligence community, the armed forces, and all law abiding Americans.”
The announcement comes on the heels of yet another egregious incident of classified information — transcripts of President Trump’s phone calls with the leaders of Mexico and Australia — being leaked to The Washington Post and published on Thursday.
Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to President Trump, appeared on “Fox & Friends” on Saturday to warn that “loose lips sink ships,” saying Sessions will “get to the bottom of the leaks.”
