Trump’s Cabinet making history with first formal weekly Bible studies in 100 years … meet the pastor

President Trump’s White House is making history.

Members of the president’s Cabinet are meeting weekly in what is being called the “Trump Cabinet Bible study,” the first formal Bible study among executive Cabinet members in about 100 years, according to CBN News.

Called the most evangelical Cabinet in history, the group features some of the most powerful men and women in the United States, including CIA Director Mike Pompeo, Health Secretary Tom Price, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, and Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.

“These are godly individuals that God has risen to a position of prominence in our culture.”Ralph Drollinger, founder of Capitol Ministries, told CBN.

A former NBA player, Drollinger founded Capitol Ministries because he believed changing the hearts of lawmakers would lead to Christian values guiding decision-making, and ultimately resulting in good policies for the nation.

Drollinger teaches weekly studies in the U.S. House and Senate after starting Bible studies in 40 state capitols and several foreign capitols. He is now leading about a dozen members of President Trump’s Cabinet in the weekly gathering.

“It’s the best Bible study that I’ve ever taught in my life,” he told CBN. “They are so teachable; they’re so noble; they’re so learned.”

The president is invited to the studies and is given a copy of Drollinger’s teachings every week. Vice President Mike Pence, who serves as a sponsor, reportedly plans to attend when his schedule allows.

Drollinger praised Pence and compared him to Biblical figures like Joseph, Mordecai and Daniel who rose to the second most important position in governments at different times in history.

“Mike Pence has uncompromising biblical tenacity and he has a loving tone about him that’s not just a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal,” he said.  “He brings real value to the head of the nation.”

Drollinger called the members “faithful, available and teachable,” commending them for their commitment to attend the studies.

“I just praise God for them,” he said. “And I praise God for Mike Pence, who I think with Donald Trump chose great people to lead our nation.”
