Reporter compares de Blasio to ‘cowardly lion’ for fleeing angry 63-year-old Queens woman

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio was compared to the cowardly lion in “The Wizard of Oz” by a CBS reporter when he took action to avoid an angry 63-year-old Queens woman.

The mayor was in a neighborhood announcing an effort to fix sidewalks damaged by tree roots when he was spotted by Vickie Paladino, who later described de Blasio as “a liberal, socialist mayor,” according to The Washington Free Beacon.

“I want to know why you let your police officers down and our country down by going to Germany and protesting against our country,” Palidino began asking de Blasio. “I want to know why you’re doing that. OK? I don’t care about the trees. We’ll work it out.”

Hizzoner made a hasty u-turn, returning to the safety of his vehicle.

In her report, CBS reporter Marcia Kramer said de Blasio “simply fled,” but she didn’t stop there in her frank assessment.

“The woman in the white shirt single-handedly brought WrestleMania to the streets of Whitestone, Queens,” she explained. “But her opponent Bill de Blasio was no Hulk Hogan or The Rock. He was more like the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard Of Oz.”

Epic.
