In this week’s installment of “As the Snowflake World Turns,” race-baiting grievance mongers slammed a wax figure of singer Beyonce, saying it was “whitewashed” to make her look more Caucasian.
As a result of the outcry, Madame Tussaud’s Museum in New York removed the wax figure to “adjust” it.
Madame Tussaud’s denied accusations of whitewashing, blaming excessive lighting for the doll’s skin tone.
“Lighting within the attraction, combined with flash photography, may distort and misrepresent the color of our wax figures,” a rep told TMZ. “Our talented team of sculptors takes every effort to ensure we accurately color match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted.”
Fans immediately slammed the Beyonce wax figure on social media the minute it was unveiled. Critics said the figure looked more like Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey or even Britney Spears.
“I think this is the most disgusting, disrespectful wax figure of Beyoncé ever,” one fan tweeted. Another chimed in: “I was so confused when I saw it… Not even the lightest light skin looks that white.”
Other wax figures have also looked different from the celebrities they depicted, and there was far less outcry from the social-media peanut gallery.
Some social justice warriors suggested there might have been a racist element because the wax figure of reality TV star Kylie Jenner was spot-on.
For the record, Beyonce is one-quarter Caucasian, which is why she has a lighter skin tone than her husband Jay-Z, for example.
The Beyonce wax figure was an actual MOCKERY.
The fact that Kylie's was spot on just adds further disrespect.#ShitMove
