Fans are freaking over the emergence of a fair-skinned Sammy Sosa

Former professional baseball player Sammy Sosa made an appearance on ESPN that left fans alarmed.

Sosa, who most notably played for the Chicago Cubs from 1992 to 2004, emerged on ESPN earlier this week and immediately lit up the internet as viewers wondered what was wrong with his appearance.

Sosa has had to explain his lighter complextion in the past, but a recent interview has fans more concerned.

The former MLB slugger excused his lighter complexion in 2009 when fans questioned if he was sick, citing a “bleaching cream” he was using that had lightened his skin tone.

Mystery revealed on how ABC hides George Stephanopoulos’ ‘little-boyish mini legs’

“It’s a cream that I have, that I use to soften [my skin], but has bleached me some. I’m not a racist, I live my life happily,” Sosa said on a Spanish-language television program.“What happened was that I had been using the cream for a long time and that, combined with the bright TV lights, made my face look whiter than it really is. I don’t think I look like Michael Jackson.”

But that was 2009, and the 2017 Sosa who appeared on ESPN this week sent Twitter users into a meltdown over his even more lightened complexion.
