MSNBC pundit Joe Scarborough is leaving the Republican Party, less than two weeks after President Trump mocked his fiancée’s alleged face lift.
Outing the plastic surgery of his leftist employee/lover Mika Brzezinski was apparently a bridge too far for Scarborough. His announcement shocked many GOP’ers, who had no idea Joe was a Republican given his shrill, leftist rhetoric.
“I am a Republican, but I’m not going to be a Republican anymore,” Scarborough said on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” “I’m gonna become an Independent.”
Scarborough was a Republican congressman from Florida from 1995 to 2001. He launched his MSNBC show “Morning Joe” in 2007, where he has worked alongside his now-fiancee Mika Brzezinski, a staunch Democrat.
Both recently got divorced amid longstanding rumors they had been carrying on a lurid extramarital affair for years. It was apparently an open secret among MSNBC insiders.

Scarborough and Brzezinski were on excellent terms with Donald Trump for many years. Trump appeared numerous times on their show. Past video footage suggests Mika had a huge crush on Trump, as evidenced by her outrageous flirting with the billionaire mogul.
The couple initially supported Trump during the primaries, but then started ratcheting up their attacks during the past year, around the time they went public with their romance. Coincidentally, attacking Trump was a ratings bonanza for their low-rated morning show.
Since outing themselves as a couple, Scarborough has increasingly moved far-left, in tandem with his liberal fiancée.
While the couple and Trump have exchanged barbs on Twitter, the breaking point came two weeks ago, when the president mocked Brzezinski’s “bleeding facelift.” (Her nose looks different too.)
The relationship is now irretrievably broken, and Joe wants to leave the Republican Party. Many reacted to the news by saying good riddance to RINO Joe Scarborough.

Meanwhile, Twitter reminded Scarborough that a scandal from his past resembled that of another famous liberal, Ted Kennedy.
