Defiant teenage girl says cop grabbed her breasts during arrest; police footage proves she’s a liar

A police officer’s career, and perhaps his freedom, was saved by the fact that his body cam caught a violent incident with a teenage girl on video.

An 18-year-old, Logan Huysman, wrote on Facebook last month, that Burlington Police Officer Adam Lippa and Sgt. My Nguyen inappropriately touched her, and grabbed her breasts, when they took her into custody that morning, the Burlington Free Press reported.

“I would consider that sexual assault especially coming from ‘authority,'” she wrote on Facebook.

The officers reported, and video evidence showed, that Huysman attacked the officers when they found her, and two companions, unconscious in a vehicle at a gas station and attempted to handcuff her.

According to the report, her two friends were allowed to leave while Huysman was given a notice of diversion and asked to wait until her dad could pick her up.

But Huysman lashed out and lunged to grab the evidence and flung a bottle.

After more than an hour of warnings the police eventually apprehended her.

“At no point do officers strike her, use weapons, or use force beyond controlling her assault with empty hands,” Chief Brandon del Pozo wrote in an email statement to the Press.

On Thursday the chief released the portion of the video that, Chief del Pozo says clears his officers.

The chief told WCAX news that the girl’s father believes his daughter made a dumb mistake and that the police are working with the family to prevent this type of behavior in the future.
