Is anyone more sore about winning than Lindsey Graham? Slams Trump’s latest victory as ‘dumb’

Has anyone in the history of politics been more angry about the party he represents winning an election than Lindsey Graham?

The South Carolina senator, who is registered as a member of the Republican Party, appeared on NBC’s “Meet The Press” on Saturday in the familiar position of Republican that bashes President Donald Trump.

His toughest criticism was directed at the president’s proposed cyber security unit with the Russians.

“It’s not the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard,” he said. “But it’s pretty close.”

He said that the president’s willingness to work with Russia is doing damage to his presidency.

“When it comes to Russia I am dumbfounded, I am disappointed, and at the end of the day he’s hurting his presidency by not embracing the fact that Putin is a bad guy,” Graham, who appears to believe anything short of triggering a war with Russia is not adequate, old host Chuck Todd.

“He is literally the only person I know of who doesn’t believe Russia attacked our election in 2016,” he said.t

Graham called the president’s meeting with his Russian counterpart at the G20 “disastrous.”

“Two hours and 15 minutes of meetings (and Secretary of State Rex) Tillerson and (President) Trump are ready to forgive and forget when it comes to cyber attacks on the election of 2016,” he said.

It’s a typical liberal talking point that ignores how any interference resulted in Hillary Clinton winning the popular vote but losing key swing states.

A point he acquiesced.

“Nobody’s saying, Mr. President, the Russians changed the outcome. You won fair and square,” he said begrudgingly, but added that “The more you do this, the more people are suspicious about you and Russia.”

He did manage to give the president’s national security team credit for its handling of the war in Afghanistan, the war against the Islamic State and the handling of North Korea. But he quickly got back onto his Russia talking points.

“When it comes to Russia he’s got a blind spot,” he argued. “And to forgive and forget when it comes to Putin, regarding cyber attacks, is to empower Putin. And that’s exactly what he’s doing.”

But he pressed hard on wanting to punish the Russians.

The senator said he was “intent on punishing the Russians” and that he wants to send “a clear message to Russia that you’ll pay a price for undercutting democracy.”

Many on social media wondered why Graham is so angry that President Trump won the 2016 presidential election.

Others wondered why he seems to want a war with Russia.
