In the wake of the assassination of a New York City police officer, Mayor Bill de Blasio decided the best place for him to be was …Germany.
The city’s liberal mayor left for Hamburg on Thursday, on a previously unannounced trip, to reportedly join a G-20 Summit protest, according to Fox News.

De Blasio’s sudden trip came on the heels of Wednesday’s murder of a 48 year-old NYPD officer while she sat in her patrol car. His trip also meant missing a swearing-in ceremony for new officers as he flew to Germany where President Trump is meeting with other world leaders at the summit.
“You know who the worst is out of everything?” Fox News’ Greg Gutfield asked on “The Five” Thursday. “Mayor Bill de Blasio.”
“Without telling anybody, anybody in this city, he flew to Germany to protest. He claims the costs was footed by Hamburg shows attitude,” Gutfeld continued. “What a horrible little man-child this is, to sneak out of the city, he leaves his city, his responsibilities to go protest. He’s such a dirtbag! Please someone challenge de Blasio! If something bad happens here, we don’t have a mayor! Maybe that’s actually a good thing. Maybe something will get done.”

Gutfeld was not alone in his sentiments as the mayor has come under heavy fire for his twisted priorities.
“Unbelievable. Instead of jet-setting around the world, he should be here doing his job. A police officer was murdered, street homelessness has skyrocketed and people continue to get delayed on the trains,” state assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis, a Republican who is running for mayor, said according to Fox News.

“The cops I know can’t stand de Blasio,” former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino said On “Fox & Friends” Friday. “Bill de Blasio cares about Bill de Blasio. Everything else is a distant second.”

“He’s not doing us any favors. He’s never been in the cops’ corner,” Bongino said. “This guy is not a leader, he’s a follower. And the best thing he could do is leave the country.”
I’m so old, I remember when mayors stayed in their city to do their job rather than try to make themselves ideological symbols. https://t.co/deDbXzWU3g

Author Kristin Tate blasted the mayor’s decision as “indefensible” and “insulting on so many levels” on Fox Business Network Friday.
“It is so hard for cops to do their jobs today and it’s because of the anti-police environment that has been created by politicians like de Blasio and President Obama,” she said.
