When they talked fourth of July fireworks, this is not what they had in mind.
A woman, wearing what appears to be an orange Metropolitan Transit Authority vest, was captured casually lighting up and smoking aboard a subway train as the doors close.
She did it on Independence Day, the day when most Americans celebrate by lighting up fireworks — not smokes — and certainly not on public transportation.
The clip was captured in the early morning hours of Tuesday and posted to Instagram.
“Morning commute July 4th 4-day weekend MTA work bum LiT,” the commentary accompanying the one-minute video said.

Other riders can be heard joking and laughing as she calmly puffs away.
“Oh my god,” a man can be heard saying. “An MTA worker is lighting … up.”
The clock inside the subway car indicated that it occurred at 3:44 a.m.
“Metropolitan Transportation Authority spokeswoman Beth DeFalco said the agency was looking into the video but had yet to determine if the woman worked for them,” the New York Daily News reported.
