Leaked audio catches President Trump go off on the ‘phonies’ at CNN, even floats a lawsuit

Another day, another leak from someone who was close enough to President Donald Trump to record him.

In an audio recording obtained by The Intercept, the president basked in the glow of the bad week CNN was having, and threatened to sue the network.

“Boy, did CNN get killed over the last few days,” the president said, referring Russia consipiracy story that the network had to retract and apologize for.

“It’s a shame what they’ve done to the name CNN, that I can tell you,” he said.

“But as far as I’m concerned, I love it. If anybody’s a lawyer in the house and thinks I have a good lawsuit — I feel like we do. Wouldn’t that be fun?” he told the crowd at the Republican National Committee get together at his D.C. hotel.

The president made reference to the undercover videos CNN has had exposed by James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas this week and continued.

Van Jones — you see this man?” the president asked.

“These are really dishonest people. Should I sue them? I mean, they’re phonies,” he said. “(CNN CEO) Jeff Zucker, I hear he’s going to resign at some point pretty soon. I mean these are horrible human beings.”
