CNN is aggressively pushing the bogus Trump-Russia hoax because the fake story line is a ratings cash cow for the flailing cable news network. That’s what veteran CNN producer John Bonifield admitted on camera to James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas in a shocking video entitled “American Pravda.”
CNN Producer: ‘Trump Is Good for Business!’
Bonifield —who has worked at CNN for 15 years — said the network’s anti-Trump CEO, Jeff Zucker, has been relentlessly pushing the fake Trump-Russia narrative for ratings even though there’s NO PROOF.
“Our ratings are incredible right now!” Bonifield said. “Trump is good for business.” CNN’s ratings lag far behind those of its cable news rivals Fox News and MSNBC. CNN struggles to get even a million viewers a night for its marquee prime-time star, Anderson Cooper.
‘CNN’s Gotta Do What They Gotta Do to Make Money’
In contrast, Fox News has easily quadrupled that for the past 20 years. Bonifield said CNN is gleefully breaking journalistic ethics in a bid for ratings, and is intentionally lying to its viewers to rake in cash:
It’s a business. All the nice cutesy little ethics that used to get talked about in journalism school, you’re just like, ‘That’s adorable. That’s adorable.’ This is a business, especially cable news.
Cable news isn’t the New York Times, and it’s not even like NBC News. NBC News still gets 20 million viewers a night. Cable news is getting a million. So, they [CNN] gotta do what they gotta to make their money.
CNN Producer: ‘Russia Collusion Is Mostly BS’
John Bonifield said President Trump is correct to call CNN’s pursuit of the Trump-Russia hoax a “witch hunt” because there’s no proof. Moreover, he says everyone at CNN knows it, but is forced to push the fake news story under pressure from CEO Jeff Zucker.
Besides, Bonifield said if there had been any real evidence to support the Trump-Russia hoax, it would have leaked by now. “I haven’t seen any good evidence to show the president committed a crime,” he said, adding:
It’s mostly bullsh*t right now. Like, we don’t have any giant proof. The way these leaks happen, they would have leaked it. If it was something really good, it would leak. So, I just feel like they don’t really have it but they want to keep digging.
So I think the president is probably right to say, ‘Look you are witch hunting me. You have no smoking gun. You have no real proof.’
CNN: We Would Never Have Treated Obama Like This
Bonifield also admitted that CNN is intentionally undermining and discrediting a sitting U.S. president for ratings, and it would never have treated Barack Obama this way because viewers would have been furious:
“There’s a lot of like liberal CNN viewers who want to see Trump really get scrutinized.
If we would have behaved that way with President Obama and scrutinized everything that he was doing with as much scrutiny as we apply to Donald Trump, I think our viewers would have been turned off. I think they would have felt like we were attacking him.”
Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe first broke the news of these shocking treasonous revelations on Twitter:

The “American Pravda” video was released just hours after three CNN reporters — Thomas Frank, Eric Lichtblau and Lex Harris — were fired after falsely linking former Trump adviser Anthony Scaramucci to the Russia investigations.
The CNN reporters recklessly ran with the story despite getting confirmation from only one anonymous source whose claims turned out to be false.

Earlier this month, CNN was caught on video staging a phony protest a day after the London Bridge terrorist attacks in order to push its pro-Muslim agenda.

All these damaging revelations come at a time when the public says it has little trust in mainstream media. A recent poll showed that 94% of the American public do not trust the media. And CNN’s fake news brigade is part of the reason why.
