Cavuto gets mad kudos for flipping Dems’ ‘heartless … mean’ argument: ‘We need a stethoscope, alright …’

Fox News’ Neil Cavuto unloaded on Democrats for their meltdowns over Senate Republicans’ health care bill.

Blasting their reactions and criticisms of the GOP bill, Cavuto noted Democrats shouldn’t be complaining considering what transpired in passing ObamaCare.

“I have a very different definition of ‘mean’ and a very different take on ‘heartless,'” Cavuto began on Friday’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” referring to whining by Democrats like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer who declared that the “Senate bill may be meaner” than the House bill.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi also referred to the bill as “heartless.”

“If Republicans still spending hundreds of billions of dollars is mean, please tell me what constitutes nice. If still covering people with pre-existing conditions is heartless, what exactly shows heart?” Cavuto asked.

“This is not about a massive transfer of wealth,” he said, referring to former President Obama’s comments Thursday slamming the GOP attempt to dismantle his signature health care policy.

“It is about a massive departure from reality,” Cavuto continued, explaining that he has “done the math” and Democrats come up short in their failed promises for ObamaCare.

“What’s mean, my friends, is doubling premiums you promised would stay low. What is mean is limiting their options for care when you promised they would still have plenty of options for care,” Cavuto declared. “What is mean is saying you can keep your doctor when you can’t keep your doctor. What is mean is forcing young people to pay up for coverage when maybe they can’t afford that coverage.”

He continued his scathing criticism with examples of doubling premiums, shrinking coverage, fewer options in insurance plans and failed subsidies as things that qualify as “mean.”

“Republicans introducing Democrats to something called math,” Cavuto said, is not mean but “Democrats who concocted this mess ignoring that math” is the problem.

Cavuto slammed Schumer for denouncing the GOP leadership’s secretive process in drafting the bill which Majority Leader Mitch McConnell unveiled on Thursday.

“What is heartless is telling folks it is deplorable to do things in secret, when in fact, the Affordable Care Act itself was cooked up in secret,” Cavuto argued. “Remember the closed doors? They’re not pretty. But Chuck Schumer lecturing anyone on keeping them open? That’s pretty stupid.”

The “over-the-top hypocrisy on the left” shows a “cavalier disregard for facts the left chooses to ignore,” Cavuto continued, lambasting Democrats for remarks that show a “phony interest in the health of folks for whom liberals couldn’t care less.”

Cavuto concluded that it was “a little rich” that Republicans were getting blamed for the “disaster” of Obamacare, calling Democrats’ criticisms the “height of chutzpah.”

“We need a stethoscope alright, not to find whether there’s any heart in this latest Republican plan, but to confirm whether Democrats have any heart at all,” Cavuto said.
