Vintage Trump jokes about devastated CNN studio after that Dem ‘kid’ lost in Georgia

President Trump mocked his favorite “fake news” networks and Democrats who were devastated by their loss in Georgia’s sixth congressional district’s special election.

Trump reveled in the GOP victory of Tuesday’s election win by Republican Karen Handel during his speech at a rally in Iowa on Wednesday.

“They thought they were going to win last night in Atlanta,” he said. “And they’ve been unbelievably nasty.”

“They spent close to $30 million on this kid – who forgot to live in the community that he was in,” Trump continued, drawing laughter from the crowd. The president was referring to Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff who could not vote for himself in the special election because he was not actually a resident of the district.

Trump went on to zing the media, throwing out one-liners to the delight of the crowd.

“Their camera just went off,” he said as the audience booed his mention of CNN. “It’s covered live, their camera just went off. I can’t imagine why.”

Ossoff’s defeat was a blow to Democrats who spent millions on his campaign and employed help from outside of Georgia, even as far as Hollywood itself. The loss set off merciless mockery on social media as the left’s own words came back to haunt them.

And their faces sure showed it.

Trump blasted the networks like CNN and NBC for their coverage of the Georgia special election and noted that they built “beautiful studios” to celebrate an Ossoff victory.

“If Karen Handel had lost, they would’ve been there for weeks talking about this, and this would have been the greatest defeat in American politics,” Trump said.

“When she won,” he added, “they couldn’t get out of there fast enough.”

The president spoke about the other recent GOP wins despite the confidence of Democrats that they would be victorious.

“The truth is people love us, all of us,” Trump said, adding that conservative voters are the “hardest working, the smartest people, the toughest people.”
