Attacker stabs police officer at Michigan airport after yelling ‘Allahu Akbar,’ media clueless of the motive

Authorities suspect terrorism following the stabbing of a police officer in a Flint, Michigan airport.

The attacker was reported to have shouted “Allahu Akbar” before he stabbed Lt. Jeff Neville, 55, in the neck, on Wednesday at the Flint Airport, Fox News reported.

“We are aware of reports that the attacker made statements immediately prior to or while attacking the officer, but it is too early to determine the nature of these alleged statements or whether or not this was an act of terrorism,” the FBI wrote in a statement.

The suspect was apprehended but the airport remains closed.

“The cop was on his hands and knees bleeding from his neck,” witness Ken Brown told The Flint Journal. “I said they need to get him a towel.”

Witness Cherie Carpenter said the suspect looked “blank, just totally blank” as he was taken into custody, Fox News reported.

Gov. Rick Snyder responded to the attack with a statement on Twitter.

As authorities wait for more information, people on social media seemed to have cracked the mystery of the attacker’s motive.
