“Pucker up and fight the patriarchy.”
That’s the message of a new product designed to send a message to President Donald Trump, through lipstick.
Described as a “mid-tone, nude pink color” the “F*ck Trump” lipstick,” and the entire line, is designed to “empower women everywhere and encourage them to take action.”
College junior Katie Sones launched the product produced by the brand Lipslut. Because what says women’s empowerment like calling them “lip sluts?”
“Let’s just say we aren’t too pleased with our current socio-political landscape and the standards of the cosmetics industry in general. Chances are you aren’t either. Rather than complaining, we’re putting our money where our mouth is,” Sones wrote on the Lip Slut website.
“Offering one color allows us to keep our business practices lean and our visibility high early on. While we plan to offer a wide selection of shades soon, don’t fret; we’re certain it’s impossible to look bad wearing something called ‘F*ck Trump.'”
The company says it donates 50 percent of the profits to women’s charities.
But not many people who watched the video on social media seemed into the product or the message.
“This isn’t feminism its man hating and it’s childish and doesn’t get you anywhere,” Facebook user Jessica N Means, wrote. “If you hate Trump get over it. Stop losing sleep, wasting your time, and fighting for nothing. Don’t fight for women. We don’t want or need any help from a feminist. As a woman I got this life. And thanks to men who help me along the way.”
And other comments weren’t any kinder.
Including those who found the hypocrisy in the product.
