After having so much success fooling their Democratic base, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer must think all of America is just as gullible.
The senator from New York is salivating over the notion of President Donald Trump testifying under oath about his interactions with fired FBI director James Comey, as the president has said he is willing to do.
Playing the role of an honorable statesman preserving the “wellspring of democracy,” Schumer appeared on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” and assured host John Dickerson that Democrats would respond in a “dignified” manner to the occasion, should it happen — literally licking his lips in the process.
“I would like to invite the president to testify before the Senate,” Schumer said. “I think we could work out a way that it could be dignified, public, with questions, with Leader McConnell.”

Does he think we’re stupid, or what?
Pointing to discrepancies between what Comey has said and what Trump has said, Schumer said this is an opportunity to clear up the cloud over this presidency — the Democratic Party’s “Campaign of Resistance” notwithstanding.
“He said he would testify,” Schumer added. “So I am inviting him to come testify and we could work that out.”
He assures us that Democrats will be on their best behavior, no “perjury trap” here, Mr. President. Nope, never, no way. No siree, Bob.
