James Comey’s testimony puts these 6 media outlets in the hotseat

James Comey’s congressional testimony Thursday morning, verified President Donald Trump’s claim that he was told three times by the former FBI director that he was not, personally, under investigation in connection with Russia.

The establishment media was clearly all-in on the narrative that the President was indeed under investigation misconstruing Comey’s March 20 testimony. Here’s five stories Comey just proved wrong:

Slate ran a headline proclaiming “Donald Trump is under investigation. Is This Normal?” in a clear attempt to mislead its readers.

The Atlantic’s headline read:

It’s Official The FBI Is Investigating Trump’s Links To Russia.

The headline is deliberately misleading but opens with a direct transcript of Comey asserting it’s a counter intelligence investigation, much different than a criminal investigation. An honest publication would make that distinction.

In fact, Comey didn’t even mention Donald Trump’s name, rather the “Trump campaign.”

The Huffington Post declared:

Nevertheless, we have a president under FBI investigation. How do you like that?

Well, actually we don’t.

America Blog ran a headline, “Trump fires FBI Director Comey, The Man Investigating Trump for Treason.” In the body the author wrote:

Donald Trump just fired FBI Director James Comey, the man investigating Trump’s potential collusion with Russia during the 2016 election.

Donald Trump has finally made his first clear-cut impeachable offense.

Not only was it not an impeachable offense, Donald Trump was never under investigation.

The Government Executive wrote:

Though it was not surprising, Comey’s decision to publicly confirm a criminal investigation of possible collusion between the sitting president and a foreign power was a stunning revelation.

It wasn’t a criminal investigation of Donald Trump, not even close. If the truth was a ballpark, this claim would be somewhere outside the parking lot.

The New York Times ran a headline that wasn’t at all correct

F.B.I. Is Investigating Trump’s Russia Ties, Comey Confirms

That’s incorrect, and the New York Times even refutes its own headline in the body stating that the FBI is only investigating “whether members” of the Trump campaign were involved in colluding with Russia.
