Kim Kardashian writes letter on need for stricter gun control: ‘All of my security team is armed, but …’

We’ve heard the opinion of every other loony Hollywood liberal — hers was just a matter of time.

Noted sociologist and celebrated terrorism expert Kim Kardashian weighed in on the need for stricter gun control and called out President Donald Trump for subverting efforts to restrict access to firearms.

“In almost 20 years, our country has made very little progress in enacting laws that would help protect innocent Americans from people who should not have access to firearms,” she posted to her blog Friday. “Right now, there are more guns owned by civilians in this country than in any other country in the world.”

Then she addressed her beef with the president.

“In February of this year, President [Donald] Trump actually signed a bill revoking a regulation recommended by President [Barack] Obama that would have added 75,000 names of people with registered mental illnesses to a national background check database,” she adds. “This is Crazy!”

She added that she’s not anti-Second Amendment or the right of Americans to purchase firearms.

“After what happened to me in Paris, I know how important it is to be safe and to have armed security,” she explains. “All of my security team is armed, but they also support stricter gun control laws and believe that we should restrict access to firearms for people with mental illness, anyone previously convicted of a misdemeanor, those who have been subject to a temporary restraining order and those at a higher risk of committing gun violence.”

Her open letter was written entirely in upper case, suggesting that her computer suffers the same malady as those of many others on the left — a sticky “Caps-Lock” key.

She added her hope that America not become jaundiced by continued acts of gun violence, and closed with her wish “to help build a safer future for my children and I believe together we can find ways to do that, while still protecting the rights of the American people.”

Reaction to Kardashian’s impassioned plea on social media was mixed. Although most voiced support for the reality celebrity, she had her detractors also.

The letter was posted Friday, one day before the London Bridge terror attack that killed seven and injured dozens of others. A van and knives were used to create the mayhem in that onslaught. She didn’t address van and knife violence in her letter, however.
