Police catch scum who robbed dying train stabbing victim; he was wearing dead hero’s wedding ring

The suspected dirtbag who robbed a Portland murder victim after he’d been stabbed has been caught.

George Tschaggeny, 51, was arrested by police on Friday under an overpass in Portland that is used as a homeless camp, CNN reported.

Tschaggeny was wearing the stolen wedding ring of Army veteran Ricky Best, who was stabbed to death after he came to the defense of two teenagers who were being attacked with anti-Muslim slurs on a MAX train in Portland.

Best, and fellow good Samaritan Taliesin Myrddin Namkai-Meche, 23, were killed in the attack by 35-year-old white supremacist Jeremy Joseph Christian.

Video from the murders showed a man, believed to be Tschaggeny, stealing Best’s wedding ring and backpack.

“It’s completely heartless. There’s no other way to describe what happened,” Portland Police spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson said. “That action is just incredibly heartless and unconscionable.”
