In liberal America, a disturbed bully traumatizing the 11-year-old son of the President of the United States — see Kathy Griffin — is the real victim because of the fierce pushback to her vile actions.
…and the man sitting opposite a liberal who spouts the N-word is the real culprit.
In what boggles the mind, unhinged liberals are going after U.S. Sen. Ben Sasse, who happened to be sitting across from Bill Maher when the acerbic comedian dropped a racial slur.
Not that Sasse is taking the heat lying down.
The two were discussing the Republican lawmaker’s new book when Sasse jokingly told Maher he was welcome in his home state of Nebraska, saying “we’d love to have you work in the fields with us.”
“Work in the fields?” Maher asked incredulously. “Senator, I’m a house n***er.”
The kerfuffle over Sasse’s reaction, or the lack thereof, prompted a response from the senator — Twitter’s 140 character limit proving to be no friend to the politician:
Am walking off a redeye from LAX.
3 reflections on @billmaher
1. I’m a 1st Amendment absolutist. Comedians get latitude to cross hard lines.— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) June 3, 2017
2. But free speech comes with a responsibility to speak up when folks use that word. Me just cringing last night wasn’t good enough.
(2of4?) https://t.co/e4Bw8s8tV2— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) June 3, 2017
3. Here’s what I wish I’d been quick enough to say in the moment: “Hold up, why would you think it’s OK to use that word?…
(3of4?) https://t.co/mQL6wMEd7W— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) June 3, 2017
(4of4)
"…The history of the n-word is an attack on universal human dignity. It’s therefore an attack on the American Creed. Don't use it.” https://t.co/kEZm5vPFHK— Ben Sasse (@BenSasse) June 3, 2017
So why is Sasse to blame, other than because he’s a Republican? According to Yashar Ali, the former co-chair of Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential campaign, the Nebraska senator did not express enough horror to his liking:
Bill Maher just said the n word, @BenSasse didn't look horrified, and the audience applauded. pic.twitter.com/kFAs1S3dyM

Went over to @BenSasse Twitter feed. Bunch of RTs of people praising his interview but nothing about letting the N-word fly by w/o comment. pic.twitter.com/TUlNWiFvcl

Never mind that a look of extreme discomfort was written across Sasse’s face, no group deflects better than liberals when in a bind.
Of the many responses to Ali’s nonsensical deflection, conservative journalist Mary Katherine Ham summed it up best with this: “Oh, screw this.”
Oh, screw this. Kathy Griffin is not the victim in her own stunt & @bensasse is not a villain bc some guy said something insane next to him. https://t.co/2A2mlend3G

Here’s a sampling of other reactions from Twitter:
Two things I've learned from @yashar: Kathy Griffin isn't responsible for her own actions, and Ben Sasse is responsible for Bill Maher's. https://t.co/c6FjSqHl4Z
— Stop scolding me, I'm vaccinated (@jtLOL) June 3, 2017
And the media made it about the reactions of @BenSasse and the audience, not Bill Maher. https://t.co/4M8zEDbksH

Bill Maher says the N-word on his show and the left is firing at Ben Sasse (who he was interviewing). That fits.

That was quick. "Didn't look horrified". 😂 https://t.co/W0k61JCkzq

Fuck. Off. @bensasse isn’t the one who said the word. Sasse was literally promoting hard work. Go after your boy Maher, not Sasse.

To be fair, Sasse looked super uncomfortable. Can’t blame him.

Hell, even a few liberals refused to buy into the ruse, as seen in a tweet from Mother Jones’ editor in chief Clara Jeffery:
.@BenSasse isn't the one people should be upset with. It's Maher. https://t.co/KldbDUAA3d
