Geraldo Rivera admitted he is not a scientist but is sure President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord spells doom for the U.S. and the world.
Rivera argued with the anchors of Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” Friday over Trump’s “self-inflicted wound” of exiting the international climate agreement.
“In terms of climate change, particularly,” Rivera said. “I am absolutely appalled by this decision. I think it’s unnecessary, a self-inflicted wound on the President, because I love the President. I like the Vice President. I love the President. I want him to succeed. And I think that this is terrible.”
“Virtually every industry but the coal industry is against this decision. I don’t understand it,” he said, adding that Trump’s move “makes him look like he’s defying the world just for the sake of defiance.”
“What is this deal for?” Rivera exclaimed.
“American sovereignty,” Pete Hegseth calmly responded.
“At what cost?” Rivera countered, to which Hegseth replied, “Our country.”
“Do you want your kid to live in a gas mask?” Rivera shot back, going into full climate alarmist mode.
“I don’t want an international bureaucrat in Brussels telling me what regulations I have to have in Pennsylvania,” Hegseth said.
“I don’t want to have to swim when I go to the deli. I want the world to be as — at least as clean as it is now for my children — at least as maintainable, sustainable,” Rivera then said.
He concluded by warning that the climate accord would collapse with the U.S. exit, likening Trump’s decision to the U.S. not entering the League of Nations in the 1920’s.
Twitter users were not drinking Rivera’s climate Kool-aid and blasted the “liberal tool” on social media.
I’m tired of the tax payers paying for things that do not help our country! We now have a Pres. who loves this country! No apologies! U.S 1st

“I don’t know what’s in this Paris Agreement but we need to stay in it”. Geraldo is such a liberal tool! He & Pelosi would make a great pair

Geraldo, the US has been laying down for the world the last 8 years. High time we stood up for our interests.

It’s obvious that the #American taxpayer does not want to pay for climate change. What about if we tax all these celebrities moaning for it?
— Paul Bassett (@PaulBassett) June 2, 2017
Rivera is wrong! Pres. Trump is trying to protect America from the globalists who want to weaken and possibly destroy our sovereignty!
— Dr. Chuckles (@DrChuckles3) June 2, 2017
Geraldo Geraldo Geraldo you have no idea what you’re talking about

POTUS articulated his position extremely well yesterday for those paying attention & not stewing in their mindless partisanship.
— The Forgotten Street (@thefrgtnstreet) June 2, 2017
This was NOT any agreement of the American people or a Treaty ratified by the Senate. It was Obama shoving his agenda down Americans throats
— Randman (@Randman41) June 2, 2017
Geraldo get real. Why should America always pay more when other countries don’t pay their share. Glad we are out of the Paris Agreement.
— Nancy Ledford (@NancyLedford2) June 2, 2017
