A sign reportedly posted in Europe and shared by an American author and political scientist got plenty of attention as it went viral on Memorial Day.
On a day set aside to honor those who have died while serving and protecting this nation, New York University professor and foreign affairs columnist at Time, Ian Bremmer, tweeted a photo of a sign in Europe and his caption agreeing with the sentiment.
Europe.
OK, we deserve that. pic.twitter.com/Q7fc6qc9QY— ian bremmer (@ianbremmer) May 29, 2017
On Memorial Day, we remember the countless thousands of Americans who died in order to save Europe. https://t.co/Duaad7tNpD

“Americans are unwelcome dolts and also they’re insufficiently willing to go to war on my behalf” — yep, sounds like Europe to me. https://t.co/av40Iuy6bv

While the sign in Europe did not appear on Memorial Day, it was Bremmer who decided to share it on the national holiday, enraging many on social media.
@ianbremmer Maybe you should side with your country instead of obnoxious foreigners.

@ianbremmer Over 400 thousand American adults gave their lives to keep Europe free. #dumb

@ianbremmer @kylemartino Nice retweet on Memorial Day. I’d challenge you to visit Normandy one day. It might alter what you find noteworthy today

@ianbremmer Ironically this is posted on a day in which Europe is free because of Americans.

the best part of Ian Bremmer is when he rips off six month old tweets and doesn’t credit the original poster for cheap RT’s https://t.co/CmRoB1lier

A real American would tell these Euro dicks to fuck off.
But liberals aren’t real Americans – except when pretending to be is useful. https://t.co/LZpmMAomj1— Kurt Schlichter (@KurtSchlichter) May 29, 2017
@KurtSchlichter @TrumpGirlStrong Please write that in Arabic so your countrymen can understand!

@ianbremmer When you post stuff like that Ian, on a day such as today, it causes one to question what your agenda is. Europe is scattered with our dead
— TheWhiteIguodala (@BordenDaytime) May 29, 2017
@ianbremmer My great uncle died at the Battle of the Bulge. My grandfather fought Nazis. But, yeah, Europe, tell us more about being grown-ups.
— Jennifer (@jenmelton1976) May 30, 2017
@ianbremmer Our “adults” (really just young men starting their lives) went there and died. Do you respect that? Nope. You post this globalist tripe.

@ianbremmer Figures an NYU progressive “academic” would drown himself in the collective guilt for surviving two World Wars started by Germans. Schmuck.
