Slain DNC staffer Seth Rich may have been in email contact with Wikileaks shortly before he was murdered.
That’s what former homicide detective Rod Wheeler, who’s leading the investigation into Seth Rich’s murder, suggested in a bombshell report.
Rich, who was 27 years old, was shot to death at 4 a.m. in Washington, D.C., in July 2016.
Police reports initially claimed Rich was the victim of a robbery, but changed their story after discovering that his wallet, credit cards, watch, and cellphone were still on him when his dead body was discovered.
Rod Wheeler, a private investigator and Fox News contributor, believes there is a massive cover-up going on. “Neither the police department nor the FBI have been forthcoming,” he told Fox 5.
“They haven’t been cooperating at all. I believe that the answers to solving his death lies on that computer, which is either at the police department or at the FBI. I have been told both.”
Wheeler claims a source within the D.C. police department told him there is evidence on Rich’s computer linking him to WikiLeaks. But the police department was told to “stand down” in its murder investigation:
I have a source inside the police department that has looked at me straight in the eye and said, ‘Rod, we were told to stand down on this case, and I can’t share any information with you.’
That’s highly unusual for a murder investigation, especially from a police department. I don’t think it comes from the chief’s office, but I do believe there is a correlation between the mayor’s office and the DNC.
Seth Rich’s father, Joe Rich, downplayed the link between his son and Wikileaks. But Rod Wheeler was hired as a private investigator to hunt down Seth’s killers since authorities have all but ignored the case.
Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has suggested in multiple TV interviews that Seth Rich was the source for the Wikileaks e-mails that humiliated the Democratic National Committee last summer, and was murdered for his actions. Rich was a computer-voting specialist at the DNC.
“Whistleblowers go to significant efforts to get us material and often very significant risks,” Assange told Dutch TV program Nieuwsuur (see video).
“A 27-year-old who works for the DNC was shot in the back, murdered just a few weeks ago for unknown reasons as he was walking down the street in Washington.”
Wikileaks later offered a $20,000 reward leading to the arrest of Rich’s killers.
According to unconfirmed reports, Rich was about to speak to the FBI about an ongoing case involving the Clinton family when he was gunned down.
Meanwhile, Seth Rich’s unsolved murder has fueled numerous conspiracy theories online.
