President Trump will be signing an executive order to begin an investigation into allegations of voter fraud.
The order, to be signed Thursday, will establish a commission to review the American election system for instances of fraud and voter suppression, ABC News reported.
The “Presidential Commission on Election Integrity” will be chaired by Vice President Mike Pence with Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach as co-chair and will be announced later in the day.
The bipartisan commission will be reviewing “vulnerabilities” in U.S. voting systems and “improper voting, fraudulent voter registrations and fraudulent voting,” according to ABC.

The broad study will include Trump’s allegations of mass voter fraud in the 2016 election and “systemic issues that have been raised over many years in terms of the integrity of the elections,” an administration official told ABC. Voter suppression will be examined by the commission as well, in an effort to motivate Democrats to join the effort.
Under consideration for membership on the commission are names like those of Indiana’s Republican Secretary of State, Connie Lawson, Democrats like New Hampshire’s Secretary of State Bill Gardner and Maine’s Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap as well as former Ohio Republican Secretary of State Ken Blackwell.
The results of the review are expected sometime in 2018 by the commission which will be launching this summer.
Trump is following through on claims he made in 2016 that millions of fraudulent votes gave his opponent, Hillary Clinton, the popular vote.
