Trump tweets to Senate ahead of Sally Yates testimony! ‘Ask Sally Yates, under oath …’

Even when it would best serve him to do otherwise, President Trump exhibited loyalty to his disgraced former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Trump wrote Monday that “General Flynn was given the highest security clearance by the Obama Administration — but the Fake News seldom likes talking about that.”

The president made the assertion on Twitter, in anticipation of testimony former Trump acting Attorney General Sally Yates is expected to deliver to a Senate subcommittee later in the day.

Trump followed up a Monday morning tweet about Flynn with a question of his own — one he would like the Senate subcommittee to ask Yates during the afternoon session.

Yates will testify that she told White House counsel Donald McGahn that Flynn had been spoken to Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. She claimed he could be a blackmail risk. This was precisely the information that led to his resignation, begging the question who leaked it to the media.

Yates, a holdover from the Obama administration, served as Trump’s acting attorney general until she was fired for her refusal to defend a presidential executive order.
