Now, this is something you don’t see in the news every day.
The New York Mets tweeted a photo that had folks doing a double-take following a dramatic come-from-behind win Friday over the Miami Marlins.
…but then, giant sex toys seem to have that effect on people.
After overcoming a six-run deficit to win 8-7, the MLB team posted a photo of third baseman T.J. Rivera standing in front of his locker — he was wearing a crown after being named player of the game for hitting a two-run double that tied the game.
Unfortunately for the Mets, they totally missed a huge dildo sitting in catcher Kevin Plawecki’s locker.
More from the New York Post on what happened next:
The Mets quickly deleted the tweet and sent out a cropped version — before deleting that, too, as Twitter users were flooding the replies with screenshots of the original image.
The Mets, careful not to make another boner, then played it safe and tweeted out a close-up video of Rivera. The Mets have not commented on the story behind the sex toy.

As for poor ol’ Plawecki, he found himself tasked with trying to explain why the sex toy was in HIS locker.
“Honestly, I don’t really know how to handle this one,” Plawecki sheepishly told the New York Daily News. “This is kind of unbelievable, really.”
But he was clear that it wasn’t his.
“We’ve got some good pranksters in here, that’s for sure,” he said. “I mean what can you do, just kind of laugh this one off.”
Here’s a quick sampling of the juvenile jocularity prompted by the hilarious incident:
