CBS scored a major media coup when President Trump agreed to an exclusive “100th Day” interview with John Dickerson, but while relations between the president and the media have certainly been sour, the Face the Nation host probably didn’t count on getting trolled right to his face.
But that’s exactly what happened.

While the conversation was informative and wide-ranging, eventually, as he often does, Trump managed to turn it to the “fake media.”
“You know it’s very funny when the fake media goes out — we call the mainstream media — sometimes, I must say, that is you,” Trump said, ostensibly referring to Dickerson.
When Dickerson asked if the president was referring to him, Trump said, “I love your show — I call it Deface the Nation. But, you know, your show is sometimes not exactly correct.”

This seems to be a new favorite jab for Trump. The president also used it last week during an AP interview when he compared his appearance on Chris Wallace’s Fox News show with Dickerson’s:
“It [Trump’s December Fox News Sunday appearance] had 9.2 million people. It’s the highest they’ve ever had. On any, on air, (CBS “Face the Nation” host John) Dickerson had 5.2 million people. It’s the highest for “Face the Nation” or as I call it, “Deface the Nation.” It’s the highest for “Deface the Nation” since the World Trade Center. Since the World Trade Center came down. It’s a tremendous advantage,” Trump said.
