President Donald Trump knows a thing or two about influencing media coverage and the president looking to do just that with a rally planned for next Saturday night.
…at the same time as the White House Correspondents Dinner that he opted out of.
“Next Saturday night I will be holding a BIG rally in Pennsylvania. Look forward to it!” Trump tweeted early Saturday afternoon.

Nor is Trump’s expected motivation…
The “enemies” remark is a play on a tweet from Trump in February, when he said the “FAKE NEWS media … is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People!
The president announced around this time that he wouldn’t be attending this year’s White House Correspondence Dinner.
As for the April 29 rally, it marks the 100th day of Trump’s presidency.
A few liberals came unhinged over the scheduled rally, but as more than one social media user noted, few outside the DC bubble care about the annual dinner.

Nobody outside of the Beltway media gives three fucks in a fountain about the WHCD. Nobody. Anywhere. On Earth. In the Milky Way. https://t.co/4j0D4cyX8v

Wasn't enough for Trump to skip WH Correspondents Dinner—now holding rally at same time, which many would-be dinner goers will have to cover https://t.co/J7mabsE8xv

@kenvogel Fuck him. Don’t cover him. He wants this. This is sabotage. Don’t play into his hand, not difficult. Let local media pick up the slack.
