CBS anchor, and Oprah bestie, Gayle King drew the ire of her CBS colleagues after taking a vacation with former President and Michelle Obama.
“The ‘Capital J’ journalists are pissed and raving mad that she was on a yacht with the Obamas over the weekend. The old-school people were talking about it. She shouldn’t be doing that. She’s an anchor of a news program that covers the White House. You’re held to a different standard. It’s one thing to be friendly. It’s another thing to go vacationing on a yacht,” a source told the New York Post’s Page Six.
King was with the Obamas on a yacht in Tahiti owned by David Geffen with fellow leftists Bruce Springsteen, Oprah and Tom Hanks, the Post reported.
The source said that even King’s co host Charlie Rose was angered by the jaunt.
“Charlie wasn’t pleased. I thought he and Gayle got along, but when things like this happen, it makes the show look bad,” according to the source.
But a spokesperson for CBS denied that anyone had an issue with King.
“There’s no truth to any of that. We love Gayle King. Sounds like sour grapes,” they said.
