Farm dad rewards hardworking son with Cubs tix & has everyone in tears, but the story just gets better

Hard work always leads to rewards — sometimes when they’re least expected.

Nine-year-old Kolt Kyler was just finishing up a long day of chores on the farm when his father rewarded the young Chicago Cubs fan with something extra special — tickets to the Cubs vs. St. Louis Cardinals game at the historic Wrigley Field.

Hannah Himes, Kolt’s older half-sister, said the tickets were well-deserved for many reasons.

“Kolt has been helping his dad on their farm for a couple years with their cows, but recently Kolt got two pigs to show for 4H [a youth development and mentoring organization] for the first time so he’s had to work extra hard!,” Himes wrote to ABC News in an email.

Andrea Tantaros thrust back in the spotlight, and like everyone else… she’s coming with a lawsuit

“He also made the travel baseball team again this year so he’s been busy with regular season, travel team, farm chores, Cub Scouts, and he is also an honor roll student!”

In the clip posted by Hines, Kolt’s father, Andy Kyler, told the youngster that he was being tested that day with a day-long string of chores.

“And you never once complained,” he told his son.

Hines described what Kolt’s day consisted of.

“He had a double header that morning/afternoon, he mowed our grandma’s yard and then came home for chores and that’s when he got his surprise,” she wrote. “Before he was given the tickets he was asked if he would help with something that would take a whole day to do, and not knowing what it was he still volunteered to help. I think more people in the world should take note of Kolt’s work ethic, attitude, and thankfulness.”

Hines indicated that the tickets represented a couple of firsts for Kolt.

“It will be his first time watching the Cubs in person and his first time to Wrigley,” said Himes. “We’re all so excited for him. It’ll be a good father-son day.”

The video Hines posted went viral and attracted the attention of Cubs third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant, who decided to make Kolt’s day at Wrigley Field extras special.

Other Cubs’ greats got into the swing of things and upgraded their seats.

Not only did Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo come through, but so did pitcher Jon Lester, who offered father and son his personal box seats.

Latest Bill O’Reilly accuser may look familiar, but her lawyer’s statement is truly an eye-opener

And the hearts of America melted.

It wasn’t long before media outlets picked the the story and requested permission to use the video. It was granted each time.

After seeing the video, be honest. It made your eyes leak, didn’t it.
