‘Knives are out!’ Hillary camp reportedly panicked over who leaked info in new book, had to be an insider

“What difference, at this point, does it make?” was former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s response to Sen. Ron Johnson at a hearing on Benghazi.

That reply to the Wisconsin Republican’s question could also be asked of Clinton staffers who are frantically trying to unmask the name of the person who divulged sensitive information about her failed presidential campaign. Page Six reported:

Those embarrassing details only came out this week in a new book, “Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Election Campaign.”

And that insider information, depicting her campaign’s gross ineptitude, “could only have come from someone in the inner circle,” a source told Page Six.

Clinton presidential campaign finance director Dennis Cheng is engaged in what has been described as a “witch hunt” to uncover the loose-tonhued culprit.

“The knives are out to find the people who spoke about the campaign to the authors of this book. Dennis has been texting prominent campaign staffers, asking who talked. He’s on a witch hunt to find out who talked to save their own skin, throwing Hillary and her campaign manager Robby Mook under the bus,” the source said.

One name has popped up as a possibility.

“There’s some speculation that Huma Abedin cooperated to save her own reputation. However, she and Hillary are still very close,” the source added.

Page Six reported:

Revelations in the “Shattered” book include how Clinton apologized to President Obama on election night after losing to Donald Trump.

The book also describes how Clinton had her own witch hunt in 2008 after losing the nomination to Obama.

She had an aide access the campaign’s server to check the e-mails from top staffers.

Clinton refused to hold herself at fault for the failure, preferring to point fingers at others.

“She believed her campaign had failed her . . . and she wanted to see who was talking to who, who was leaking to who.”

A “thank you party” for Clinton’s top staffers has been scheduled for April 27 to be hosted by Evercore Partners executive Charles Myers.

“Everybody will be eyeing everyone else suspiciously,” the source told Page Six.

“It was our campaign,” a Clinton representative said. “We lived it. So we don’t need a book to know what really happened, and what’s in there that’s flat-out made up. Huma didn’t talk to them.”

Social media mavens thought the whole thing hilarious.

And a few took a stab as to who the culprit may be.

Some, seemed to try and come to Hillary’s defense with picture-proof evidence all is well.

But it did little to impress:

Clinton blamed her campaign’s failures on every person and thing imaginable in her own newly-released book.

But again, “What difference, at this point, does it make?”
