‘Homeland’ star tells why ‘white men in government,’ not Muslims, are the real ‘bad guys’

Many conservative fans of the long running Showtime Series “Homeland” have been disappointed with the show’s particularly noticeable politically-correct turn in its sixth season.

A turn that has hardly been by accident, according to actor Mandy Patinkin, who plays CIA agent Saul Berenson on the show.

Patinkin discussed the show’s new take on bad guys while appearing as a guest on Friday’s edition of MTP Daily on MSNBC. Apparently, instead of portraying Muslims as the new “Cowboys & Indians” or “Nazis,” the show decided to make “white men” the bad guys instead.

Trump Jr. ROCKED a weekend t-shirt that caused the internet to have a meltdown … starting with Rosie O

“We have tried to be part of the cure, not part of the problem,” Patinkin said. “A different story line where we’re helping these people and a story line that shows in this case, in this year, in this season and — that maybe it’s the — and it is white men in the government and the military establishment that are the bad guys, not the Muslim community.”

Responding to host Chuck Todd’s question about the fact that some Americans are afraid of Muslim refugees committing terrorism, Patinkin lionized the Muslim community and essentially called the fears “false information.”

“Yes. Well, this is where Homeland and the real world are one for me because I started to say earlier it’s false information. It’s not the truth in terms of how you get elected and the tools you use. It’s the oldest trick in the book. I find someone to vilify. In movies, it was cowboys and Indians and the Nazis, Communists, you know … Now, they’ve chosen the Muslim community — a community who’s made contributions to the world of a monumental nature.”

Patinkin acknowledged that Muslims have been portrayed as “bad guys” before on the show, but this season they have “tried to be part of the cure, not part of the problem.”

Seeming to take a swipe at President Trump, the actor added, “And so back to the issue of how you get elected, you tell the populace who you need to be afraid of. You need to be afraid of these people over here. And you vote for me — I’ll keep you safe. When let’s just put some facts on the table, please, God.”

And finally, as if Patinkin hadn’t pandered to liberal social justice warriors enough, he called refugees the “safest citizens we have, and said, “The gift I have to give to my fellow countrymen and people around the world, the facts are, the Muslim community are our gift. They are the fabric of what makes America great.”

“I encourage everyone to please invite them into their community.”

As if no Muslim anywhere has ever done anything bad, ever.

As if the entire first five seasons of Homeland were based on a fabrication.
