Amid the palace intrigue over whether there has been a shift in power in President Donald Trump’s inner circle has been plenty of speculation over what the fallout will be if rumors prove correct that White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon is on the outs.
If Bannon is on the losing end of an alleged civil war with Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, a senior adviser to the president, the end result won’t be pretty, says former Breitbart employee Kurt Bardella.
“He will, I think, unleash the dogs of war on those who he believes put him in this position to be ousted, to be falling out of favor with Donald Trump,” Bardella opined during an appearance this week on CNN.
Bardella quit Breitbart over the incident involving then-Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski grabbing reporter Michelle Fields.
“I think, that the thing is, if Steve is moved out and Donald Trump veers to the center and abandoning the promises that he made to the base that got him elect elected to the base that carried him through the primaries, I think that Steve will be very instrumental in certainly highlighting that fact every day in the pages of Breitbart,” Bardella said.
“I think that you’re going see throughout the conservative alt-right media a lot of pointed fingers that this is why Trump is not the person you voted for,” he continued. “This is why he’s changed course and direction. It’s their fault and you should blame them for it. I don’t know how you could think that wouldn’t happen.”
Former Breitbart writer Lee Stranahan saw it differently, suggesting Kushner may be the one going on the attack.
Right on cue, controversial media personality, Mike Cernovich promised to drop the “mother of all stories” if Bannon is jettisoned, according to the Daily Beast.
“I know everything,” Cernovich reportedly said in a Periscope video, although he was not specific about who he’d be targeting.
“If they get rid of Bannon, you know what’s gonna happen? The motherlode,” he said. “If Bannon is removed, there are gonna be divorces, because I know about the mistresses, the sugar babies, the drugs, the pill popping, the orgies.”
“If they go after Bannon, the mother of all stories is gonna drop, and we’re just gonna destroy marriages, relationships—it’s gonna get personal.”
Cernovich later clarified that he was talking about releasing “damaging information about Deep State,” Salon reported.
“I would never threaten anyone in the Trump family, legally or otherwise,” he said.
