A little sensitive, are we?

CNN’s Don Lemon shut political strategist Jeffrey Lord down when he had the effrontery to compare President Donald Trump to the late civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr.

Here is the first segment that got Lord into trouble:

Actually what he said was “think of President Trump as the Martin Luther King of health care.”

His reasoning was fairly straightforward: Just as King placed “people in the street in harm’s way” to prod Congress into enact civil rights legislation, so too Trump plans to cut Obamacare subsidies to force Democrats to the bargaining table on health care.

Straightforward or not, the other panelists eviscerated him, and Lemon didn’t want to hear Lord’s attempt to make his case.

Lemon began calmly enough, with the claim that Lord’s comparison was “insulting,” but the more Lord tried to reason with him, the more belligerent CNN host became.

“Don’t take me to some before the war crap,” Lemon said to the former Reagan staffer. “I want to hear what you’re saying to the coworkers you work with now Jeffrey. Answer the question now.”

But instead of listening to what Lord was saying, Lemon continued with his tirade.

“I want to hear now to the coworkers, to the people of color you work with on this network every single day, who were offended by your remarks,” he shouted.

Lord replied, “we don’t judge people by color in this country.”

“I don’t want to hear about stuff from 50 darn, damn years ago!”

Lemon ended the segment after Lord accused him of “talking liberal.”

“No, I’m talking real,” he shot back. “I’m talking human.”

“You’re going to sit here and tell us someone doesn’t notice color? I notice the color of your hair… It’s insulting when you say something that is not in reality.”

Actually Lord was right on message with King, who envisioned a world where people were judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

But with Lemon it’s apparently all skin color.

Folks on social media saw it as more of the same with Lemon.
