Decrease in rape & violent crime reports among Latinos proves illegal immigration is dangerous…for everyone

Police in two cities in the western U.S. have recently noticed that reports of crime in their Latino communities has fallen.

Authorities claim that Latinos are afraid to go to the police to report crime because of President Donald Trump’s immigration crack down. But if this is true, it proves that illegal immigration is dangerous for us all.

Last month the police chief in Los Angeles, California, announced a 25 percent decline in reports of rape and violent crime from among the city’s Latino communities. The LAPD insisted that the reason for this drop in community engagement with the police is because many are afraid that if they go to the police to report a crime they or a family member might end up deported, Huffington Post reported.

“Imagine a young woman — imagine your daughter, sister, mother, your friend — not reporting a sexual assault because they are afraid that their family will be torn apart,” LA Police Chief Charlie Beck said in March.

Chief Beck’s report on crime in his city is now joined by claims from Houston, Texas, Chief Art Acevedo who reported a similar drop in reports of crime in his city, according to Huffington Post.

Chief Acevedo said that reports of rape are down 42.8 percent over last year and reports of violent crime are down 13 percent.

“When you see this type of data, and what looks like the beginnings of people not reporting crime, we should all be concerned,” the chief said during a press conference last week. “A person that rapes or violently attacks or robs an undocumented immigrant is somebody that is going to harm a natural-born citizen or lawful resident.”

Naturally, Huffington Post blamed all this on Donald Trump saying that his immigration policies were making Latino women afraid to report rape and crime for fear of deportation. But, the truth is, if they weren’t here illegally in the first place they wouldn’t have to fear deportation at all.

The problem here isn’t Trump’s focus on upholding America’s immigration law, it’s these lawbreakers for having come here illegally to begin with. Indeed, what we are seeing is that living in the shadows is dangerous for our entire society causing illegals to ignore the violent crimes that ultimately affect all of us.  Their status as illegal aliens contribute to breeding crime.
