‘If this is true, does not get much bigger’: Trump sees Fox News story and immediately tweets his concern

President Donald Trump was watching Fox News on Saturday when something caught his eye.

“Wow, @FoxNews just reporting big news. Source: ‘Official behind unmasking is high up. Known Intel official is responsible. Some unmasked not associated with Russia. Trump team spied on before he was nominated,'” he wrote in two tweets.”If this is true, does not get much bigger. Would be sad for U.S.”

The report the president was referring to involved a source telling Fox News that the person who “unmasked” the identities of private citizens on the President Trump transition team was someone “very well known, very high up, very senior in the intelligence world.”

Sources have told Fox News that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes knows who the culprit is.

“The main issue in this case, is not only the unmasking of these names of private citizens, but the spreading of these names for political purposes that have nothing to do with national security or an investigation into Russia’s interference in the U.S. election,” a congressional source with close ties to the investigation told Fox.

The tweets came after former Obama administration official Evelyn Farkas appeared to admit knowledge of the Obama administration spying on the president’s transition team.

The president kicked off the morning by tweeting about “Sleepy Eyes Chuck Todd,” a nickname he started calling the NBC mouthpiece back in 2012.
