Wendy’s keeps Twitter wildly entertained when it takes a ‘savage’ dig at rival McDonald’s

Wendy’s threw some savage shade at McDonald’s as the restaurant chain heated up its burger war trolling with its competitor.

McDonald’s announced in a video that it would be using fresh beef in their Quarter Pounder burgers at most of their restaurants by the middle of 2018.

Wendy’s, which proudly states its meat is always “fresh, never frozen,” could not let the opportunity pass by and was the first to respond to the video posted on Twitter.

The social media team for Wendy’s continued with the zingers in response to online users’ comments.

While McDonald’s didn’t address the Wendy’s remark directly, they offered up the same response to the many questions on their Twitter feed.

The Quarter Pounder “is right up there with the Big Mac as we think of iconic products,” McDonald’s USA president Chris Kempczinski said, according to USA Today.

“It’s where we have most demanding customers,” he said, explaining that this is just a beginning for the burger chain’s quest to improve sales.

“By no means are we done. This is a first step,” Kempczinski said.

Meanwhile on Twitter, Wendy’s entertaining responses versus McDonald’s robotic PR proved over and again that it’s not only their meat that is “fresh.”
