‘This isn’t what I came on for’: Smug Mika blindsides GOP rep with hostile grilling on paid family leave

Anti-Trumper Mika Brzezinski used her spot on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” to ambush a member of the House Freedom Caucus.

Rep. Raúl Labrador appeared on the show on Tuesday to discuss the decision to not vote on the American Health Care Act which many, including President Donald Trump, blamed partially on the Freedom Caucus.

But Brzezinski had other ideas and Rep. Labrador did not appreciate it.

“I guess I’ll start off by asking you what you have against family leave at this point since you seem to be against it,” Brzezinski said smugly while laughing.

“I just don’t think it’s the government’s role to give business more things to do and to pay for. That’s something that a business to decide and it’s not for the government to be telling people about that,” he said.

But free market principles are lost on the far left host and she followed by asking him if he wants paid family leave for his family.

Labrador explained that when he owned a business he gave some form of paid leave to workers that cost him money.

“I don’t think the government should be forcing that,” he said. “I know you want the government to force more spending but I don’t.”

Brzezinski continued hammering him on the private practices of his former business when Labrador finally cut her off.

“Mika, I’m not going to talk to you about this, this isn’t what I came on the show for,” he said as the exchange got more heated. “I thought we were going to talk about the health care bill and not about this issue.”
