The Mexican Catholic Church vehemently opposes President Trump‘s border wall, and says Mexican companies that help build it are traitors.
Showing its ignorance of the separation of church and state, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Mexico trashed the wall in a fiery editorial.
The op-ed, entitled “Treason against the Homeland,” was published Sunday in Desde la fe, the archdiocese’s weekly publication:
Any company that intends to invest in the fanatic Trump wall would be immoral, but above all, their owners and shareholders will be considered traitors to the homeland.
Some have pointed out that the United States has the inalienable right to build the wall, even if it violates the dignity of our people … The wall is a threat that violates social relations and peace.
In a meeting with Mexican steel companies last week, Economy Secretary Ildefonso Guajardo told executives that the government will not restrict Mexican companies that want to bid on Trump’s wall project, but warned that Mexicans will hold that against them.

“Your prestige will align with your own interests in not participating in the wall,” Guajardo told the companies.
Ironically, neither the Economy Secretary nor the Catholic Church have urged the Mexican government to improve the country so that mass hordes of its own citizens don’t risk their lives every day to cross the border illegally into the United States, where they hope for a better life.
It’s unclear how many Mexican companies have expressed interest in building Trump’s border wall, but one struggling cement company in Mexico offered its services.
“We can’t be choosy,” said Enrique Escalante, the CEO of Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua. “We have to respect our clients on both sides of the border.”
While bleeding-heart liberals make emotional arguments about how the United States doesn’t have a right to build a border wall (actually, we do; that is undisputed), they forget about the social and financial impact illegal aliens make on the country.
