Huma wants another stab at Weiner: Break-up was only for optics, pressure from Clinton camp

Huma Abedin is giving marriage with Anthony Weiner another shot.

Despite a history of publicly humiliating her by getting caught sexting with various women, including the latest case with an underage girl, Abedin is ready to take the disgraced former congressman back, the New York Post reported.

“Huma has been working hard on her relationship with Anthony,” a source close to Abedin’s family told the Post. “He has been spending 80 to 90 percent of his time at the [Irving Place apartment] they share . . . If there is a disagreement, he goes to his mother’s apartment in Brooklyn.

“Both [Weiner and Abedin’s] families are hoping they will reconcile,” the source said, despite Weiner’s many transgressions.

In 2011 he was caught after he sent a photo of himself in boxer shorts to a college student. In 2013 more sexting was discovered under his alter ego “Carlos Danger,” as he was running for mayor of New York City.

And at the height of the presidential race, as Abedin was helping to guide the campaign of her boss Hillary Clinton, Weiner was found to have found to have sent sext messages to a 15-year-old girl. As well as other sext messages using his toddler son as a prop.

Then Weiner contributed to what might have been the demise of Clinton’s campaign as it was his laptop that was the impetus for a new FBI investigation right before Election Day.

According to the Post, the only reason Abedin separated from Weiner at all was because of the Clinton campaign.

A source who worked for the Clintons for many years told the Post that the separation was “more for optics for the campaign and [under] pressure from Hillary’s camp.”

“A lot of [their] friends believe this is an illness, that he is sick,” a friend of the couple said, adding that “Huma takes it into consideration that there’s been no affair or physical contact that anybody is aware of. He never met [the women].”

“They clearly have rebuilt a life together,” that source said. “How romantic it is, I can’t tell you.”

And now, like her mentor Hillary Clinton, it seems no public humiliation is enough for Abedin to leave her man.
