In a delicious bit of irony, a women’s group led by well-known feminists has admitted that the media industry’s best online gender ratio can be found at Fox News.
The Women’s Media Center on Wednesday released its annual “Divided 2017” report which focused on journalists at 20 top news outlets, including newspapers, online news, broadcast and wire services.

The report, from the group co-founded by feminist icon Gloria Steinem and actress Jane Fonda, concluded that the Fox News website was the leader in gender equality in the media.

The study analyzed broadcast news from ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS as well as ten widely circulated newspapers in the nation. It also reviewed the online news sites of Fox News, CNN, Huffington Post, and the Daily Beast.
Fox News came in first in the section that researched which media outlets “achieve the best gender ratio” for online news. The study concluded that 50.1 percent of bylines on Fox News belonged to men while women received 49.9 percent of bylines.
In second place behind Fox was the liberal Huffington Post which had 50.8 percent of bylines going to men and 49.2 percent to women.
“Compared to the other sectors, women garner more bylines — 46.1 percent of all bylines — at the four online news sites, combined,” the report stated.
In general, the study reported that “female journalists continue to report less of the news than do male journalists — with the disparity especially glaring in television.”
Overall, 74.8 percent of broadcast news is reported by men, highlighting the gender gap according to the report.
“The gender of the journalist affects how they cover topics and whom they choose as sources,” the report stated. “Women are not equal partners in telling the story, nor are they equal partners in sourcing and interpreting what and who is important in the story.”
But at the the network liberals love to hate, Fox News website women seem to be doing just fine.
